Hey, I'm Will.
I'm a front-end engineer in Atlanta, Georgia. I started out in engineering, got pulled into product because I was the one who could talk to clients, and spent a few years scoping projects and keeping delivery honest. I missed building the whole time. The first chance I got to go back, I took it.
These days I build interfaces in TypeScript, Svelte, and React, and spend my off-hours on odd, systems-heavy side projects: games, tabletop tools, the occasional simulator. A Georgia Tech CS degree gave me the fundamentals. Shipping real products to real people taught me the rest: the part where you sweat the edge cases and ask whether the thing is actually any good to use.
Alpaca Software is a pun I refuse to apologize for. Alpacas are soft, and I think software should be too: warm, unintimidating, clearly made by a person who cared. I grew up believing computers would make everything better. That turned out to be half a lie. I build like it's all the way true anyway, and this site is my attempt at it.
